JJ Dinasty - Oakdale

Several times now we keep going to JJ Dinasty in Oakdale to have some dinner. The place is pretty quiet and offers chinese and japanese food. I, almost always, get japanese ( sushi, sashimi or roll ) and I think they are pretty good. They also have a very good green tea for free. If you like this type of food you should try the Oakdale Roll from the special rolls. So far everybody that have tried it, says it is good. Even the people that don’t eat this kind of food in general. Also Yakitori is a nice chicken appetizer that reminds me of bulgarian shishche 
The place is not expencive and I would suggest it to everybody.
The EULA of Vista

Today, I ran across an interesting article about the “surprises inside Mirosoft Vista’s EULA”. The guys from Microsoft don’t play games. From now on, if you want to use Vista trough a virtual machine ( like vmware, parallels or virtualpc ), you will have to own one of the top two most expensive editions of the OS. Also even then you will not be able to play any DRMed WMA or use in general any protected media… That’s ok. I’ll keep NOT using Windows.

This year, we did pretty bad. There were around 60 teams and almost all of them solved at least 2 problems. We were on 43rd place. Shame, shame… I don’t care.

I just came back from work. We are waiting for Rado to show up and wa are going to Belport to see Koceto because he is going back for Bulgaria. To stay there. At least we are changing the clocks tonight so we have one extra hour for sleep for tomorrows ACM contest.

Today I woke up at 2:00pm. Finaly I was able to get some more sleep. ( about 10 hours ). I was even told, that I don’t have that much shadows? under my eyes!

Before I went to work, I managed to eat something, to go to the barber shop, to go to dowling for a document that states my status in the college needed for the ACM contest on Sunday and I manged to clean up my music library and delete some duplicate files.

I just saw that Wordpress 2.0.5 is out, mainly minor bug fixes, but I’m too tired to upgrade right now. Maybe on Sunday, when I come back from the ACM…
Gadgets

I have a weaknes. I love gadgets. In the past couple of months my favorite web site is www.engadget.com and I have to update my gadgets page. In the last couple of days, I’ve got a new 8GB ipod Nano ( I sold my old one ), a digital voice recorder Olimpus VN-3100PC and a bluetooth presenter ione Libr-N1 … Today, I promised I’m not going to buy more gadgets… The recorder is pretty good. I use it to record random ideas and notes and some chinise word that I want to know when I see Huan ( Baudjalia = Bulgaria ). The presenter and the iPod I haven’t tested yet, I’ll write about them later.

I changed the scripts that generate the index, but accidently I deleted them… That is why it took me “a little” more time … Also I updated all files that point to the blog, to point to the corresponding language of it.

Today I finished the migration from HTML 4.01 Transitional to XHTML 1.1 of my homepage and making my blog and my webpage look almost identical. Also, now both my blog and my page are available in bulgarian and english ( bulglish ). Now I need to quickly fix the script that generates my index file and later on I might change the theme of my gallery as well. Comments for better or worse than before are welcome.

Today was a very productive day. In Arcib, I fixed the SCSI drive and it turned out that the stupid SONY DRU-520 does not want to read my DVDs with Slackware. So I generated a CD from our local mirror and I burned it. After 15 minutes I had minimal Slack 11 installed on the external SCSI drive. Also, I figured, that if you don’t put the bootloader in the MBR of the SCSI drive, the machine crashes on boot! Currently I use the adaptec.s kernel, NFS exports are configured and tomorrow I’ll know if the backups are working on the new backup server. If everything goes well this week, I’ll delete the Fedora thing, I’ll format the 3 drives and create an LVM2 volume and I’ll solve my weekly backup problems.
After work I did a lot of work on my page. Besides the design, I’m changing the DTD from HTML 1.0 Trans to XHTML 1.1 and I’m translating everything in .bg and .us… What’s left is the blog theme and I’ll make the new thing available. Later on, if I have time, I might do the gallery theme as well ( it will be a lot of work… ).
