On Wednesday I tried to cock General Tso Chicken. It didn’t turn out like I expected, but in the end Dary and Angel said they like it this way better. I think the lemon I put in was not needed and the egg was not enough. Next time I’ll try to make it the way it is supposed to be. To do this I ordered a wok. The best thing is that the cheapest woks are one of the best. I found one one ebay for 7.99. Unfortunately I had to buy one with flat bottom because of the stove I have. But they were too pretty cheap. I expect it next week and I’ll try to stirfry some chinese meals

Because I like cooking, when I was in Bulgaria I got a set of knives from an offer. After a few hours looking on the net today, I found that the ones I got have nothing to do with good knives. I even saw them on ebay for 7.99 The complete set… I even noticed a flaw in the shape of the chef’s knife -> it is shallower in the chopping area and does not reach the board, so I cannot chop properly with it… I know I said I’m not going to buy any more stuff, but a good knife and a wok are lifetime items and they are about food… Dary wanted to buy me a knife for Christmas, but I’ve heard that it is not good to buy a knife as a gift, because it can “cut” the friendship between the two ppl. In general I don’t believe in such things, but I’ll my myself the knife and she can buy me something else It is better for me this way.
For now I like two knives best:
Calphalon Katana Chef’s Knife -> American brand with Japanese steel and a great look.

Global G-2 -> Japanese brand with German ( I think ) light steel – an interesting design and very good reviews on the net.

I think I’ll get the second one.
