Отключване на WAP
За да си отключите WAP-а ви трябва да редактирате едно файлче и прокси сървър. Сървъра може да е ваш, а може и да е някой анонимен от интернет. Няма голямо значение.
Нужни стъпки:
Конфигурирайте телефона за връзка с вашия лаптоп през Bluetooth:
- Отворете Bluetooth Setup Assistant ( От менюто за Bluetooth, изберете Set up Bluetooth Device)
- Натиснете Continue, изберете Mobile Phone без да натискате Continue
- На вашия телефон отидете на Menu-> Settings & Tools -> Bluetooth Menu и изберете Options с десния бутон. От там изберете Discovery Mode и кажете Yes на въпроса Turn Bluetooth power on, ако ви пита и сменете режима на On.
- Сега натиснете Continue на вашият Bluetooth Setup Assistant. Изчакайте няколко секунди да се покаже телефона.
- Когато телефонът е намерен ще изпише LG VX8550. Изберете го и натиснете Continue
- Погледнете телефонът си отново. Ще ви попита следното “Pairing request from < името_на_вашия_компютър> Compter. Accept?” Изберете Yes.
- Натиснете отново Continue в Bluetooth Setup Assistant и ще ви бъде показан номер за ауторизация.
- В същия момент вашия телефон ще ви попита за номер за ауторизация. Въведете го и натиснете ОК. Ако всичко е минало добре до тук телефонът ще изпише “Paired successfully”. Изчакайте няколко секунди и изберете “Always Connect” на въпроса Before connecting.
- Погледнете отново към Bluetooth Setup Assistant. Изберете опциите “Use with Address Book”, “Access the Internet with your phone’s data connection” и “Dial a specific number for your Internet Service Provider”. Continue.
- Попълнете полетата на екрана както следва:
- Username: вашият телефонен номер + @vzw3g.com. Ако вашият номер е 212-221-1221, то Username ще бъде 2122211221@vzw3g.com.
- Password: vzw
- Phone Number: #777
- Modem Script: Verizon Support (PC 5220)
- Изберете само Show Bluetooth status in the menu bar и Show Modem status in the menu bar
- Изберете Continue и после Quit
Отключване чрез BitPim:
- Стартирайте последната версия на BitPim.
- Отидете в BitPim->Preferences.
- За Phone Type изберете LG VX8550
- За Com port въведете /dev/cu.LGVX8550-BTDIAG-1 и натиснете OK
- От менюто View изберете View Filesystem
- Изберете File System в левия панел и отидете до директория OWS
- С десния бутон кликнете на paramtable1.fil и изберете Save. Запазете файла на вашия компютър. Повторете стъпката, запазвайки файла на второ място за backup
- Стартирайте 0xED и отворете един от двата paramtable1.fil
- В самото начало на файла, горе-ляво, трябва да виждате: 30 1E 00 01 . Променете третата двойка на 20, за да получите 30 1E 20 01.
- Запазете и затворете файла.
- В BitPim отново натиснете с десния бутон върху файла paramtable1.fil и изберете “Overwrite”
- Посочете файла, който току що редактирахте и натиснете Open
- Когато лампичката в долния ляв ъгъл стане зелена, натиснете с десния бутон под файловете и изберете Reboot Phone.
- След като телефонът отново работи наберете:##77647268550 което идва от ##program8550 за по-лесно запомняне и натиснете Send. Паролата е 000000.
- От менюто изберете Wap Settings->Proxy Address Setting
- Сега трябва да въведете или някое ваше прокси или някое свободно прокси. Можете да потърсите в Google за такива
- Сменете и порта на проксито в менюто Wap Settings->Proxy Port Setting
- Можете да смените и Username и Password ако проксито ви го изисква
- Препоръчвам ви да си смените и Home Page на http://www.humpa.com/homepage
На този етап можете да си настроите shortcut News & Info и той би трябвало да ви води на http://www.humpa.com/homepage
Настройка на телефона за модем
Ако не сте направили по-горните стъпки, направете стъпките “Конфигурирайте телефона за връзка с вашия лаптоп през Bluetooth”. След това трябва само да направите следното:
Забраняване на методи за аутентикация:
- Отворете Termina.app
- напишете: sudo pico /etc/ppp/options натиснете Enter и въведете вашата парола
- сложете следните 3 реда :
refuse-chap
refuse-mschap
refuse-mschap-v2 - Натиснете ctrl+o и Enter, после ctrl+x и затворете Terminal.app
Сега влезте в програмното меню като наберете:##77647268550 което идва от ##program8550 за по-лесно запомняне и натиснете Send. Паролата е 000000. От менюто Network Select->Mode Preference изберете 1X Only. Натиснете ОК и сте готови да ползвате вашият телефон като модем където имате сигнал на цената на нормален разговор. За да се вържете към интернет от малката телефонна слушалка на вашето меню изберете Connect и ако всичко е наред, трябва да се вържете.
Отключване на EVDO мрежата
Ако не ползвате EVDO и вашият WAP и вашият интернет през телефона ще бъде ограничен до около 17KB/s. За да отключите истинската сила на 3G мрежите следвайте следващите стъпки след като сте направили стъпките от секция “Конфигурирайте телефона за връзка с вашия лаптоп през Bluetooth”:
- Стартирайте последната версия на BitPim.
- Отидете в BitPim->Preferences.
- За Phone Type изберете LG VX8550
- За Com port въведете /dev/cu.LGVX8550-BTDIAG-1 и натиснете OK
- От менюто View изберете View Filesystem
- Изберете File System в левия панел и отидете до директория /nvm/nvm
- С десния бутон кликнете на nvm_data и изберете Save. Запазете файла на вашия компютър. Повторете стъпката, запазвайки файла на второ място за backup
- Стартирайте 0xED и отворете един от двата nvm_data
- В края на файла, в дясно ще видите XXXXXXXXXX@dun.vzw3g.com на две места, където XXXXXXXXXX е вашият телефонен номер. Сега трябва да промените частта dun.vzw3g.com на vzw3g.com. Много е важно да не изтривате нищо, а само да пренаписвате отгоре и да допълните с 00. Ако маркирате текста dun.vzw3g.com ще видите, че в лявото поле ще се маркират цифрите: 64756E2E767A7733672E636F6D. За да не промените размера на файла, заместете тези цифри с тези:767A7733672E636F6D00000000. Трябва да видите в дясно как едното dun.vzw3g.com е станало на vzw3g.com. Повторете със второто dun.vzw3g.com
- Запазете и затворете файла.
- В BitPim отново натиснете с десния бутон върху файла nvm_data и изберете “Overwrite”
- Посочете файла, който току що редактирахте и натиснете Open
- Когато лампичката в долния ляв ъгъл стане зелена, натиснете с десния бутон под файловете и изберете Reboot Phone.
- След като телефонът отново работи наберете:##77647268550 което идва от ##program8550 за по-лесно запомняне и натиснете Send. Паролата е 000000.
- От менюто изберете Network Select -> Mode Preference
- Там изберете Digital Only Hybrid и натиснете OK
Ако видите ЕV и отдолу 1x в полето за сила на сигнала на вашия телефон, знащи във вашата област има EVDO. Сега, когато се вържете към интернет, било то като модем за лаптоп или WAP ще можете да ползвате скорости до 70KB/s.
При всички положения, внимавайте с трафика. И вида и обема.

I do not know. You can try. Just backup your files before editing, and if something gets messed up you should be able to restore them.

In the unlocking EVDO section do you mean nvm_data when you write ‘In BitPim again right click on the file paramtable1.fil and select “Overwrite” ‘?

Thank you. This works great, though with Bitpim 1.0.3 I had to use VMware fusion/WinXP to get Bitpim recognizing my phone. The /nvm/nvm folder kept resetting under OSX 10.5, plus a few other major UI issues.

Nice information LG Chocolate. Just got one. I am trying to unlock WAP via BITPIM.
Have performed all except when I get to this we you write:
From the menu go to Wap Settings->Proxy Address Setting
Now you must enter your proxy.
What proxy should I use?
Change the port of the proxy from Wap Settings->Proxy Port Setting
What port of the proxy should I use?
You can change the Username and Password if your proxy requires it.
How will I know if I have to change username and password?
This may be dumb but how do set-up a shortcut for News & Info and to use it to go to http://www.humpa.com/homepage?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide to me.

The proxy server must be an open proxy. You can find plenty on the internet. I have not posted one, because they tend to go down pretty often, but using google you can find plenty of open proxy servers. Usually they will say if they need an username or password.
I am running my own proxy server just for myself, that relays all traffic through my machine.
When you press the up arrow it will open the browser. To set that page, you need to change your homepage from the service menu -> Wap Settings -> Home Page. Once you change that, your phone will reboot and when you click “up” on the wheel it will open the browser and try to load whatever page you entered.
You can also find an already hacked paramtable1.fil that has everything you need, just look for it on howardforums.com

Well that is always a problem, that is why it is best to use your own proxy.
You might try to use an anonymous proxy that will help somewhat with security, but they tend to go down faster than regular proxies. Good thing you can add Primary and Secondary proxy servers in your WAP settings.

May be a dumb question but what is termina.app? I am running windows XP and am using BitPim to communicate. If it is software, where do it get it from?

It is a terminal emulator application for Mac OS X. The above instructions are for Mac OS X, but for the most part they should be either the same as on Windows, or give you an idea of what to do under windows.

No, I was asking if there is a way to unlock the multimedia transfer through bluetooth (transfer videos to friends phones). Is there anyway to unlock this feature instead of getting the “Unsupported” notifications? Thanks for being patient with me.

I don’t think so. But if you find out how to do it, please let me know. So far the only way to do it using BT is transfer from my phone to my computer and then send to the other phone.

Hello, I really enjoyed your tutorial. I can connect to the net with just my phone without any problems. I had a question pertaining to the “free” modem method. I am running vista and even after setting up a proxy and such I am still asked to pay money to connect to the net, when I use my phone as a modem. I was wondering if there was a way to do the mac trick i.e. “Setting up the phone as a modem” on a windows machine? I also tried the “Unlocking EVDO” trick and I could not connect to the net on my phone alone.

What proxy software are you using? I’ve tried kannel with no luck.. is there some kind of trick with this thing? It needs to be a wap proxy correct?

I use squid. It has to be a proxy, that is all. No specific type. If you manage to configure it so that you can go to the Internet through it, then your phone should be able to as well

I’m with Verizon up here in Great Falls, Montana. The guide worked fine for me, minus a few differences with the bluetooth portion. I went on the internet for about a half an hour and there was a nasty $16 charge on my next cell phone bill.
I was under the impression that it cost minutes, just like making a regular phone call. Just an FYI.
