Day 44 - Day 47

I’m combining the last 4 days into one post, because a lot of things were happening, and I was without a laptop at home. Right after that I left for Bulgaria and now that I’m back to the USA again, I had 1-2 weeks of full schedule where I was able to find excuses for not to write in the blog, but now I decided to catch up.

The last days of my Internship I was given a small project to work on. Also I had to prepare the hand-off for my projects and go through the code with my new colleague and my manager, so that they can add/modify anything if needed. After saying goodbye to everyone on Friday I left at around 4pm. Vassil and I went to my room to pickup my stuff and then we left for LI. The next day was my flight to Bulgaria so I couldn’t even cleanup at home.

I enjoyed this internship quite a lot. I think it showed me pretty well what means to work in a big company like UBS and now I know what people mean when they say The Real World. I met a lot of nice people and I was happy to find out that working in a big corporation does not mean that you have to sit on your desk all day and work, but you can distract yourself with your friends/colleagues when your head start to balloon up.

Day 43

So, the last week stared today. The interesting part of the day was that after work we went bowling in Manhattan with the other interns and we had fun. It was my first time playing but after a couple of games I started being at the top scorers. My thumb started to hurt a little be that’s all right.
At work, a new colleague started work and I talked to him about what I was doing. If I’m not mistaken he will be taking over my projects when I’m gone.

Day 42

Today was a very … unproductive day. Not that I didn’t want to work, but maybe because it’s the end of the internship and I’m done with my projects so there isn’t much time to do another one…

After work I came home and I talked with Dary over Skype. She showed me some very nice pictures from her cousin’s wedding, but not all of the pictures are ready yet. After that I left my clothes in the laundry machine and I went out for diner. On my way back home I moved the clothes from the washing machine to the dryer. While waiting for the clothes I looked at the deals at Fat Wallet and I liked one :). Well I liked several but I was able to let only $9 go.

I then took my clothes back and now I need to iron some for tomorrow and to go to bed.

Day 41

Today I didn’t have much work. Every once in a while someone would send me a comment about the work, but nothing complicated to do. Dan asked me to add another element to the tool. Also, today started a new guy, so I had to show him the code and lead him through it so that he can edit it if needed in future.

We had diner at the Deli and after that I came home and watched this week’s episode of Photoshop User TV. Then I was in the bed for a while, because I wasn’t feeling very well.
