4 years after my first DSLR camera, the time came for a step up. That step from 450D to 7D is quite big in my opinion, but I’m not going to do comparisons here. There are plenty available online. I’m just going to say that I’m very happy with the new body. Alright, I’ll post a bit of comparison:

Right at the end of last year (31st of December), one of my first corals ( a nice birds nest frag ) got RTN.

A lot of people lose entire colonies in hours and it is usually fatal for small frags. On top of that, one of my hermit crabs decided to try the view from the coral:

I figured the only thing I could do is to frag the coral even further, so I cut it almost in half, hoping that the base will survive. And so it happen! One month later the cuts were almost covered in new tissue and the polyps were extending nicely (2nd of Feb):

Yesterday I got a new camera (another post) so I decided today to give it a try on the aquarium. It just happen to be exactly one month after the above photo. Here is what my birds nest looks like now:

"The Sages of old were profound
and knew the ways of subtlety and discernment.
Their wisdom is beyond our comprehension.
Because their knowledge was so far superior
I can only give a poor description.
They were careful
as someone crossing an frozen stream in winter.
Alert as if surrounded on all sides by the enemy.
Courteous as a guest.
Fluid as melting ice.
Whole as an uncarved block of wood.
Receptive as a valley.
Turbid as muddied water.
Who can be still
until their mud settles
and the water is cleared by itself?
Can you remain tranquil until right action occurs by itself?
The Master doesn't seek fulfillment.
For only those who are not full are able to be used
which brings the feeling of completeness." - Lao Tzu (老子)
